Volleyball Tryouts

Volleyball tryouts will take place August 12-16, 2013, from 4-6 pm, in the Montford Gym. Tryouts are open for all upcoming 6-8 grade Montford students. The practices will be closed to the public. All participants will need the following items before they are allowed to tryout:
  1. Completed Activity Participation Form dated after July 1, 2013, (good for the entire school year and may also be picked up in the front office at Montford Middle School)
  2. Physical Evaluation (valid for one year from the date of the physician's signature)
  3. Workout clothes to include a good pair of athletic shoes, knee pads
  4. Desire to have fun and compete

The team selection will be finalized on Friday, August 16, 2013, after the final practice.

In August 2012, Target donated to Montford Middle School $377.32. Right now only 19 Target RED Cardholders designate Montford Middle School. Let's double that number!

Required Immunization

As a reminder, all incoming 7th graders must have the Tdap shot before the 2013 school year begins. Per Leon County Schools policy, this documentation needs to be received at Montford Middle School no later than August 1, 2013 in order for your child to enter class the first day of school on August 19, 2013. Please make this a priority so that your child's transition into 7th grade will be smooth and uninterrupted.

Pinpoint

Algebra 1 Summer Academy

The 2013 Algebra 1 End of Course Summer Acadmey will focus on Algebra 1 benchmarks and be taught by teachers who are professionally certified in mathematics. The extra instruction that students will receive in this summer intervention program will help reduce gaps in learning. For full details, view the registration packet.

All Summer Assignments for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are available online in printable format. Assignments vary depending on what grade the student is entering and what courses the student will be taking in the upcoming year.
